Advanced E-Textiles Module

In addition to my coursework for Inventing to Learn, I was challenged by Dr. Jonathan Cohen to create an additional module for the class drawing upon my experience in maker education.

This module builds upon the course’s previous e-textiles and arduino modules to expand upon students’ skills in these two areas and imagine ways to combine them. This module begins by asking students to remember their prior knowledge and understand how the two concepts are connected. Other activities offer students the opportunity to check their understanding with feedback, apply their knowledge through interactive activities, and to use the skills presented to create new projects.

More About the Project

Open source images, code, and videos, from Adafruit, Sparkfun, and Arduino were utilized to provide students with additional materials to increase student engagement and direct students to these resources for future use.

Interactive elements were used in Articulate Rise to increase the interactivity of the module and provide students with learning aids that allowed them to focus on the course content and the opportunity to review as needed.
